@Reference annotation causing customised servlet stop getting called

Hi guys,

I noticed that as soon as I add the @Reference annotation in my servlet, the sevlet will not be called when the form is submitted. As soon as I remove @Reference the servlet will be called. But the email will not function because @Reference is required to make the email to work.

I have the servlet registered and briefly it looks like below:

@Service(value = Servlet.class)

@SlingServlet(

                    resourceTypes = {"myapp/components/content/faqNewQuestions"},

                    methods = {"POST"},

                    selectors = {"email"},

                    extensions = {"html"}

                    )

@SuppressWarnings("serial")

public class FAQNewQuestionServlet extends SlingAllMethodsServlet {

@Reference

          private MessageGatewayService messageGatewayService;

@Override

    protected void doPost(SlingHttpServletRequest request, SlingHttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException

    {

              response.setContentType("text/plain");

              response.getOutputStream().print("FAQNewQuestionServlet is called");

    }

}

MessageGatewayService is imported through:

import com.day.cq.mailer.MessageGatewayService;

This package is added to the .bnd file under:

Import-Package: ..., com.day.cq.mailer, org.apache.felix.scr,org.apache.felix.scr.annotations,...

the faqNewQuestions.jsp (which lives under apps/myapp/components/content/faqNewQuestions) has a form looks like this:

<form method="POST" action="<c:out value="${resource.path}" />.email.html">

          <input type="text" id="email" name="email"/>

          <textarea name="question" id="question"></textarea>

          <input class="button" id="questionSubmit" type="submit" value="submit" />

</form>

I just keep getting 'Content modified' page rather seeing the "FAQNewQuestionServlet is called" I was expecting.

creating custom tag library- AEM, CQ 5.6

Hi ,

I am creating a custom tag library and want to use it in one of the components I have created. I have made a bundle inside src/com.mycompany.test.TestBundle/com.mycompany.test.TestBundle.bnd and created my java tag class inside com.mycompany.test.TestBundle/src/main/java/com/mycompany/test/DateTagClass.java and the tld in com.mycompany.test.TestBundle/src/main/resources/META_INF/dateTaglib.tld. Here is the code for both the java tag class and the tld

----------------

tag class

package com.mycompany.test;

import java.io.IOException;

import java.text.DateFormat;

import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;

import java.util.Date;

import javax.servlet.jsp.JspException;

import javax.servlet.jsp.JspWriter;

import javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.SimpleTagSupport;

/**

*

* @author ankit-chandrawat

*/

public class DateTagClass extends SimpleTagSupport {

    public void doTag() throws JspException, IOException {

    JspWriter out = getJspContext().getOut();

    out.println(getTodayDate());

    }

   private String getTodayDate() {

        DateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("dd MMMM yyyy");

        String formattedDate = df.format(new Date());

        return formattedDate;

    }

}

--------------

tld file

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<taglib version="2.1" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaeehttp://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-jsptaglibrary_2_1.xsd">

  <tlib-version>1.0</tlib-version>

  <jsp-version>2.0</jsp-version>

  <short-name>date</short-name>

    <uri>src/main/resources/META_INF/dateTaglib.tld</uri>

  <tag>

    <name>todaysDate</name>

    <tag-class>com.mycompany.test.DateTagClass</tag-class>

    <body-content>empty</body-content>

  </tag>

</taglib>

--------------------------------------------------

I am trying to use it inside a component jsp that I have created as :

<%@taglib prefix="date" uri="src/main/resources/META_INF/dateTaglib.tld"%>

But with the above taglib include in place, all I see is a blank page. I am trying this on author and have not pushed it to publisher yet. I believe it is not able to recognize the tld. Could you please help me on this.

Thanks

Ankit

Hi,

When I try to upload images to digital assests interface in CQ5.5, it is uploading the file, but doesn't generate thumbnail image. I tried to check crx-quickstart/logs, but there is nothing logged in there. Could someone please help me what are other configurations/logs I need to check to find the cause of this thumbnail generation problem?

Hi

Requirement:

      I have a pathfield where i have set a root path

for eg: /content/geometrix

req1.png

author shud be able to select only among these nodes. he shud not be able to select the child nodes of each individual nodes

eg: he can select /content/geometrixx/English

req2.png

but he shud not select child page of English

ie : /content/geometrixx/English/Toolbar shud not be assesible to him

req3.png

Hope my requirement is clear. Is there anyway we can achieve this.. If we can limit the nodes from expanding; then it would be very useful . Is there any way we can achieve this??

Thanks

Need to add a custom plugin to RTE

Business Case - On RTE I want to hyperlink text using a custom pathfield like widget. My custom path field is generating links from a database table.

Approach - I am trying to customize the richtext editor dialog. On the rteplugin I am trying to add another plugin to it having similar functionality like "Hyperlink" plugin. The new hyperlink plugin should use my custom pathfield.

Need help from the forum members on the following -

1. How to register a plugin with the plugin repository
2. And use that register plugin within RTE
3. Is there any better/easy approach than this

Any pointers on the above would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chandra

Servlet Not Getting Resolved

$

We've been using CQ since 5.0.  We recently setup a prototype CQ 5.5 runing it as a war file inside of Tomcat.  Everything seems to be going smoothly, until we started writing servlets like we always have.  The servlet derives from org.apache.sling.api.servlets.SlingAllMethodsServlet and includes SlingServlet annotations to register it in OSGi:

@Service(value = Servlet.class)

@SlingServlet(generateService = true, paths = { "/bin/myservlet" }, resourceTypes = { "aptimus/cq/myservlet" }, extensions = {

                    "html", "xml", "css", "json" })

public class MyServlet extends SlingAllMethodsServlet {

...

When I look at the system console (Felix), I can see the configuration for the servlet got registered with the appropriate path, extensions, etc.  I also verified in Felix that the "/bin/" path is registered in the "Execution Paths" part of the "Apache Sling Servlet/Script Resolver and Error Handler".

All that being said, though, when I try to access it I get:

No resource found

...

0 (2012-10-31 12:00:08) TIMER_START{Request Processing}

0 (2012-10-31 12:00:08) COMMENT timer_end format is {<elapsed msec>,<timer name>} <optional message>

0 (2012-10-31 12:00:08) LOG Method=GET, PathInfo=/bin/myservlet.css

1 (2012-10-31 12:00:08) LOG Resource Path Info: SlingRequestPathInfo: path='/bin/myservlet.css', selectorString='null', extension='css', suffix='null'

...

Any ideas?  This seems like something new in CQ 5.5...this sort of thing used to work fine in CQ 5.4.

Nothing shows in sidekick inspite of the design selection

Additional update-  If the same page, I view it in preview and revert back to authoring mode, sidekick gets populated. So preview does the trick of sidekick population but not on all the templates. For few, the sidekick stays empty all times but parsys has the component list from design.

Hello,

     I have a template which has usual header/footer/leftnav embedded in it. In the body of the template there are two components. First is embedded global headline component and next is a parsys component. I go in design and identify the components that will be part of parsys and save it. There are two things happening here.

1. No matter what I do, sidekick doesnot populate at all and is always empty.

2. If I directly go to the parsys and righclick on new, another popup comes that lists all the selected component identified in the design. So I can create the content directly from parsys but not from sidekick.

Why is sidekick empty? How can that be fixed? I have attached the code.

<%@ include file="/apps/homesite/components/global.jsp" %>

  <cq:includeClientLib categories="820subNav"/>

<section id="content" class="container_12 clearfix">

          <aside id="leftSubNav" class="twoCol">

                      <cq:include path="leftnav" resourceType="homesite/components/leftnav"/>

          </aside>

          <div id="content-wrapper" class="tenCol">

        <div id="subIndustry" class="mainPadding">

          <cq:include path="globalheadline" resourceType="/apps/homesite/components/globalheadline"/>

          <cq:include path="subindustries" resourceType="/apps/homesite/components/parsys"/>

          <%--For this section of content created in parsys, sidekick will have video and multiple lists with no links --%>

        </div>

          </div>

</section>

<cq:include path="collateralcarousal" resourceType="/apps/homesite/components/insights/collateralcarousel"/>

Thanks

Is there a max # of Sidekick Component Groups?

Our site currently has 5 component groups including 'Other', but if I try to add a new one, they just get added to 'Other' instead of their own component group that I tried to create.

Is there a maximun number of component groups that can display in the sidekick?   If there is a maximun number, can this be configured?

BadRequestException: header exceeds 8192

We use IIS with enabled Kerberos authentication.

This issue occur when the user is a member of many Active Directory user groups. When a user is a member of a large number of active directory groups the Kerberos authentication token for the user increases in size. The HTTP request that the user sends to the CQ server contains the Kerberos token in the WWW-Authenticate header, and the header size increases as the number of groups goes up.  If the HTTP header or packet size increases past the limits configured in CQ, CQ reject the request and send this "Bad Request" as the response.

Can not access bundle context from JSP in CQ5.5

I created an OGI bundle , named :

com.sdl.ws.integration.profserv.webservice.connector.server.external.beans

I can see the bundle under :

http://localhost:4502/system/console/bundles

Following is my JSP code , using which I am trying to access a bundlecontext

<%@ page import="org.osgi.framework.BundleContext"%>

<%@ page import="org.osgi.framework.FrameworkUtil"%>

<%@ page import="com.sample.osgi.components.FormattingServiceImpl.*"%>

<%@ page import="org.osgi.service.cm.ConfigurationAdmin"%>

<%@ page import="org.osgi.service.cm.Configuration"%>

<%@ page import="org.osgi.service.packageadmin.PackageAdmin"%>

<% BundleContext bundleContext =      FrameworkUtil.getBundle(FormattingServiceImpl).getBundleContext();  %>

I am getting the following error : FormattingServiceImpl cannot be resolved , Class name "FormattingServiceImpl" is missing

I tried to use multiple ways to import the jar but nothing is working ,

Here is a structure how my bundle is configured :

I am stuck on the point how to access the bundle context from JSP , does any one has any suggestions / corrections ?

Maven plugin for managing CQ5 packages

Hi,

Here's some new documentation that explains how to use the Content Package Maven plugin. You can package and install content from your maven build...for example, in your POM, add goals for package creation and installation to automatically deploy the OSGi bundle that was built. You can perform other package management tasks on remote servers, like rebuild packages,  and list, uninstall, and remove them.

Hello,

We would like to change the session timeout value for the Author server so that if an Author doesn't do anything for 30 minutes the CQ session expires.  Seems the default is several hours.

How to get the user details using sling API classes/methods?

Hi,

Since I'm new to cq-5, I have this very basic question. I'm writing my own custom form action to store data entered by the user in the repository. For doing this, I'm writing my own custom jsp page to define all the actions when the submit button is clicked. Now in this jsp page I need to get the details of the user who has logged-in in the current session.

So can someone please tell me which classes and methods do I need to use to get these user details?

Please help. Thanks.
